Crossing the Threshold a retreat for people at a turning point

Price TBD. Expressions of interest invited. 8th–11th March 2027
The Avalon Sanctuary, Yorkshire Dales National Park

We all have turning points in our lives. Moments when something in you knows that continuing as you are is no longer the right answer. You may not yet know what comes next. But you can feel that the way you are currently playing - at work, in your practice, or in your life - has reached its limits.

Crossing the Threshold is a 3.5 day retreat for people who find themselves at this edge.

This is a space to pause, to look more carefully, to see more honestly and choose with greater authority how you will move forward in your work or life.  This is not about fixing yourself, finding motivation, or adding another tool to your toolkit. It is about standing honestly in the space between an old way of operating and a new one that is asking to emerge.

Crossing the Threshold is not about courage alone. It is about seeing more clearly what you want, and what you are no longer willing to carry.

What this retreat is - and is not

Crossing the threshold cannot be done for you - but it can be done with support. This retreat is:

  • Reflective, grounded, supportive
  • Spacious, with time to integrate and make meaning
  • Designed for people ready and willing to tell the truth to themselves

This retreat is not:

  • Content-heavy or technique-driven
  • For people seeking quick fixes and external direction

Who is this retreat for?

This retreat is for people who are at a significant personal or professional turning point; who sense that their life or work is ready for a deeper or different expression; and who want the space and support to set an intention, reset priorities, choose a direction and move with more clarity and confidence into the unknown. Many participants arrive with a question they have been avoiding...

What will we be working with?

We will come together in the awe-inspiring foothills of The Yorkshire Dales National Park, at a dedicated, state-of-the-art wellbeing and retreat centre.

There will be a light but clear structure, leaving time for personal reflection, discussion and the compassionate challenge of others, opportunities for simple bodywork and encouragement for journalling and other forms of creative exploration of your unique threshold.

Over the 3.5 days we will draw on: the Play to Win philosophy to see how fear shapes our choices and what it means to build on strength, not just avoid loss; on systemic constellations work to make visible the hidden loyalties and dynamics that keep us stuck even when we want to move on; and on Dialogue practices to create the conditions for clearer thinking, honest insight and real choice.

Day 0: Naming the Threshold

Day 1: Understanding the loyalties, barriers and blockages

Day 2: Choosing the Crossing

Day 3: Making the Crossing

Each day will include a single. focused teaching input that builds in to a coherent whole.

People usually leave with a clearer sense of the game they have been playing; relief from self-judgment replaced by self-understanding; a deeper sense of authorship over what comes next; and one or two heartfelt commitments that genuinely matter.

Crossing the Threshold is a catalyst, not a conclusion.
