Systemic and Embodied approaches are at the forefront of Leadership Development and Organisational Development today. They have the potential to be catalysts of both profound personal learning and change, and to significantly shift your professional practice at the same time, making real contributions to and through the business.
Yet how do you draw upon embodied and systemic practices, as an integrated part of your leadership work - at will and with skill?
The Praxeum is a way of developing who you are and what you do – contributing to both your presence and your practice. It combines collaborative learning with individual action. It is a space for sharing experience, distilling insights, exploring new approaches, exchanging tools and techniques, and applying learning directly to your work in ways that are potentially transformational. The Praxeum approach is designed to support and stretch you by exploring ways of being different at work as well as doing things differently.
Who should attend
This Praxeum is designed for experienced internal change agents – HR and OD professionals, leaders charged with organisational change and transformation agendas, internal coaches and others, who are:
- Charged with enabling cultural transformation
- Involved in developing senior leaders and in supporting senior teams
- Mobilising 'middle managers' to energise change
- Implementing a challenging vision and strategy within the business
- Struggling to stabilise growth while balancing the requirements of Investors or Trustees
- Dealing with the impact of unprecedented societal changes within the business (Covid, D&I, Sustainability, political upheaval...)
- Working with legacy issues - ie mergers & acquisitions, resignations & redundancies, ethical improprieties, organisational trauma and other systemic concerns
Anyone is welcome, who wishes to explore how to use themselves differently while deepening and re-energising their professional practice through gaining broader and more inclusive perspectives. No previous experience of embodied or systemic approaches is required.
Structure & Ethos
This particular Praxeum is specifically for leaders, leadership development specialists and change agents within client organisations. To ensure depth of personal and professional development, we will work with a small group of 6 participants, for 6 x 6-hour sessions every 6 weeks. Care will be taken to ensure that you will be placed in an international group of leaders from non-competing organisations across different sectors. To encourage attendance from participants across timezones, sessions will usually commence around 1200 GMT (London).
Guided by 2 experienced facilitators, there will be an engaging mix of inputs on leading-edge embodied and systemic theories; practical exercises that are directly transferable to the workplace; meaning-making discussions and most especially, opportunities for deep peer-learning through team coaching methodologies. You will be asked to bring a specific organisational transformation challenge you are currently facing – perhaps even struggling with – as a focus for your work over the 9 months of the Praxeum. In addition, you will be asked to explore your own professional development challenges as a practitioner in your workplace, as well as enquire into how these relate to your growth more personally.
The process will be deep, the application will be practical. - we will be drawing on approaches from Gestalt, Constellations, Voice Dialogue, Complexity, Action Research and other ground-breaking traditions. While the content will be bespoke as far as possible to the needs of participants, aspects of the curriculum will include:
- Exploring a holistic model for business transformation
- Harnessing the power of Dialogue to engage collective intelligence
- Designing co-creative spaces and leveraging creative facilitation techniques
- Working with the 'ordering forces' of systems and with 'Wicked Problems'
- Communicating with impact - engaging hearts and minds through StoryTelling approaches
- Ensuring 'psychological safety' to ensure trust and enable teams to engage with conflict constructively
Copies of all slides are included, as well as bespoke filmed content which will be provided as part of the learning approach.

Leading the Praxeum - Ty Francis PhD & Jon Riley.
Ty and Jon are co-Directors of meus. They have a reputation for bringing creative, collaborative and systemic approaches to their cultural transformation work with global client organisations. Ty is a Social Psychologist whose research explored 'transformation'. Gestalt-trained, and a leading practitioner and teacher of systemic constellations, he enjoys crafting environments of trust and collaboration where breakthrough is possible. Jon is a systemic coach and facilitator with an abiding interest in how technology contributes to the creation of compelling learning experiences. He has deep expertise in designing and curating interactive, experiential gatherings in both physical and virtual spaces.
In order to keep prices affordable, we do not offer refunds on cancelled places or missed sessions. It might be possible to transfer your place to another person you nominate, with sufficient notice. In exceptional circumstances we will consider offering you a place on another meus programme within 6 months of the date of your original booking.
