Embodiment in Systemic Coaching A series of four workshops to invigorate your coaching practice
4 workshops over 4 months, between: 11th November 2021–17th February 2022
Bristol - moving to virtual in the event of further UK lockdowns.
A developmental journey for coaches interested in growing their practice beyond the textbook models and methodologies into a way of working that is profoundly human, ethical and transformational for clients.
As coaches we often pay more attention to our question strategies and to the client’s content, than to the important ways our clients embody their experience - and the ways our bodies respond to them in the coaching relationship. In this advanced level workshop, we shall be exploring what happens when we put embodiment at the heart of our coaching practice.
The aim of this particular workshop series is to help participants attain a level of practical mastery in the skills and application of embodiment within the coaching relationship. This workshop is also recommended as a starting point for practitioners who are interested in our ‘Coaching Constellations’ series, which builds on these foundations. Examples of topics will include:
- Contracting for personal experience
- Presence and vulnerability
- Emotional range and resonance
- Working with resistance: voice, posture, breathing and muscular tensions
- Contact and ‘aliveness’
- Metaphor, meaning and creativity
- Sentic states
- Application to individuals, groups and organisations
- Embodiment in coaching constellations
An important part of the learning journey is the creation of a genuine ‘Community of Practice’ that can be a resource for participants beyond the workshop series.
Structure & ethos
This will be a very practical and experiential workshop. There will be a lively mix of theoretical inputs, group discussions, practical exercises in pairs and small groups, and Q&A ‘clinics’ where each participant can get their most pressing questions answered.
Who should attend?
This workshop is suitable for coaches who would benefit from:
- Advanced-level, themed inputs on embodiment in coaching, from relational and systemic perspectives
- Peer ‘support and stretch’ in applying embodied approaches to the coaching relationship
- Occasional supervision with difficult client cases
The group is also relevant for therapists working with a systemic perspective, who have an interest in developing organisational coaching experience.
